Special ice experience

Ice rinks from Ice-World have a special appeal and create interaction for the whole family. It is a crowd puller that creates a warm feeling in winter and that is exactly what Toverland was looking for its winter opening. Ice-World provided a real ice experience in an environment where you wouldn’t expect it, among the attractions. In addition, the high slide was also a real eye-catcher. Children had the greatest fun and wanted to go down the cool funslide over and over again. And the older children? could play a game of curling with friends. It completes the joy for the whole family. Ice experience combined with an amusement park turns out to be a hit. The cooperation with Toverland is a great success and worth repeating.

Winter Feelings

In addition to 35 attractions and shows, Toverland has a number of highlights throughout the year. Here, Toverland emphasizes the seasons in the Netherlands. The goal: broadening the target group and giving an extra reason to visit the amusement park, preferably all year round. Especially in winter, they play fantastically into this. With the Winter Feelings theme, Toverland provides a completely different experience than in the summer. Family, warm and cozy are the key words. That’s where the distinction is made. And everything has to be right in Winter Laguna; fantastic decoration, warm hospitality, shows and entertainment. Winter Feelings is the way to present Toverland also in winter as a magical day out for the whole family. Within the theme, Ice-World’s attractions are the ‘icing on the cake!’ They guarantee action, fun and the feeling of “never wanting to go home again. Ice-World’s knowledge and experience ensure the best ice fun for young and old to enjoy.

Three times as many guests

Luke Verhoeven is Manager of Entertainment at Toverland. He likes to explain the success of the cooperation: “Everyone feels at home during Winter Feelings. In winter you see extended families coming to theme parks. Grandpa and grandma come along or families go together to experience Winter Feelings. With Ice-World’s ice rinks, we choose a different offering than normal and it is incredibly popular with guests. Because of the way the event was designed and marketed, we received almost triple the number of guests during Winter Feelings in 2022/2023 compared to the Magic Winter Weeks in 2019/2020.”

Toverland attracts visitors from home and abroad. A quarter of the guests come from Germany. The amusement park wants to offer all its visitors a special experience during the winter season. Families want to do more and more in winter, and after a visit to Winter Feelings, a visit in one of the other seasons is obvious. An additional benefit is that for employees, the winter theme is also a pleasant addition. Besides more work, it means more variety in work and more contact with guests.

Working with ice

Ice-World is the perfect partner for Toverland. Its years of experience, eye for sustainability and expertise in building ice rinks is the deciding factor. According to Manager Entertainment Verhoeven, the cooperation went more than well last year. “For us, working with ice was something new. We received very good advice in the preliminary process, especially since we had quite a large package of requirements. We wanted an ice rink with as few right angles as possible and in the Fun Slide there had to be a curve. Ice-World was able to realize all our wishes. Also during the implementation the contact was good and we were able to work together in a very pleasant way.” In short, a collaboration that fits exactly within the enchantment offered at Toverland.
