The Project
An event of this magnitude demands more than just an ice rink. It requires absolute reliability, tight planning, and craftsmanship.
The scope included:
- 2,800 m² of indoor ice, divided across multiple rinks
- 1,100 m² outdoor ice rink, functioning as a central attraction
- 5 dedicated curling lanes
- A custom IceByke track, adding a playful and dynamic element
All of this had to be delivered within a strict schedule, from build-up to freezing, and from final finishing to handover, without compromising on quality.
Our approach: craftsmanship in every layer
At Ice-World, building an ice rink is not just technical execution, it is a craft refined over decades.
For each project, we deploy our aluminium ice rink system, known for its:
- Exceptional heat conductivity, ensuring fast and even ice formation
- Energy efficiency, reducing operational costs without sacrificing performance
- Modular flexibility, allowing us to adapt to complex layouts and multiple rink configurations
Every phase was executed with precision:
- Installation – a structured and efficient build-up, aligned with the overall event schedule
- Freezing process – carefully controlled to create a strong, consistent ice floor
- Finishing – delivering a perfectly smooth skating surface, ready for high visitor volumes
Delivering on time, according to plan, is critical for events like this – when one event ends at the RAI in Amsterdam, the next one is always around the corner. This is where our experience makes the difference.
The Result
What makes this project stand out is how all ice elements come together as one cohesive experience. From the indoor rinks to the large outdoor ice surface, visitors are naturally drawn from one area to another.
Inside, multiple rinks handle high visitor volumes, while the curling lanes add a social and interactive layer. Outside, the expansive rink creates atmosphere and visual impact. The IceByke track introduces a playful twist, making the ice accessible to an even broader audience.
Integrated within the wider Winterparadijs, with its mix of entertainment, food and social spaces, the ice acts as the central anchor. It attracts visitors, keeps them engaged, and encourages them to explore the full event.
As a result, visitors stay longer, move more frequently between zones, and actively engage with surrounding hospitality concepts, directly contributing to increased on-site revenue.
The outcome is a dynamic, high-energy environment that not only delivers a memorable experience, but also maximizes commercial impact across the entire venue.
