With nearly 1,500 m² of real ice and tens of thousands of expected visitors, the rink is the city’s quintessential winter outing and the festive kickoff to Amsterdam’s skating season. From November 15, 2025, to February 6, 2026, Museumplein will once again be transformed into an atmospheric winter destination.

Ice-World: Global Market Leader in Temporary Ice Rinks

Ice-World will be responsible for delivering the ice rink in the coming years, commissioned by and in collaboration with 4PM Entertainment. For more than thirty years, Ice-World has supplied temporary ice rinks in over forty countries. Its combination of rapid installation, reliable ice quality, and the use of real ice—essential for an authentic skating experience—has made the company a global industry leader. The decision to partner with Ice-World underscores the ambition to elevate the Museumplein ice rink to a high, sustainable standard.

Smart, Sustainable Technology

The Museumplein ice rink will be built using an energy-efficient aluminum cooling system and an elevated, level subfloor that provides natural insulation and ensures consistent ice quality. In addition, Ice-World has been offsetting the energy consumption of all its European ice rinks since 2009.

Museumplein is one of the most iconic locations in the Netherlands. Being able to deliver the ice rink here in the coming years, together with 4PM, is a wonderful recognition of our craftsmanship. For us, a great skating experience always starts with one principle: it has to be real ice.
