Slovenians love mobile ice

Nestled between the Alps, Adriatic Sea, the Sava and Ljubljanica rivers lies Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. 5 years ago, Luka Klasinc, Director of Lucky Luka the Ice-World dealer in Slovenia, came up with the idea of having a mobile ice rink in Ljubljana.
The idea has proven to be a good one, because today the ice rink in Tivoli Park is the largest (800 m2) mobile ice rink in Slovenia and the best-known in Ljubljana. From November to March, the rink attracts up to 2,000 visitors each day, making it a fantastic crowd puller where people gather to socialise and have fun. What makes the ice rink even more attractive to a lot of people is the rich array of entertainment on ice. Experienced ice skating teachers and entertainers from Lucky Luka's team organise skating programmes for schools and pre-schools in the morning and skating classes for children and adults, entertainment on ice as well as various events in the afternoons and evenings.
The ice shows performed by professional figure skating group Lucky Lookers on Ice, are the main attraction at the ice rink in Ljubljana as well as at many other Ice-World ice rinks throughout Slovenia and abroad. Luka and his team are committed to increasing the popularity of ice skating as a winter sport. The combination of an ice rink installed at an attractive location in the city, entertainment programmes which add extra value to the ice rink, and additional services such as catering, skate rental and sharpening, make the ice rink in Ljubljana a great example of a successful turnkey project. It is also a great reference for all other ice rink projects. Lucky Luka is convinced that with additional sponsors and support from the municipality they can do even more for all ice skating lovers. |

Mobile ice rinks in Slovenia

I love skating, we love skating and I want everybody to love skating. All my life skating has been my passion. I have been Slovenian champion several times, both solo as in pairs, and I have even represented my country at the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France. I enjoyed every second of the event! How I performed? I ended in 25th place.
Since a couple of years my love for skating has resulted in Lucky Luka, a company active in the field of mobile ice rinks. At first traditional mobile ice rinks, in the winter of 2007/2008 we switched to the Ice-World aluminium mobile ice rink. A great move, because the performances of our Ice-World mobile ice rinks (we realized five of them last winter) are fantastic. The short build up time, the quality of the ice - even when weather conditions are not optimal - the fact that it is a very energy-saving concept... the advantages are almost countless.
Our rinks are very low on energy consumption, the coolant is environmental friendly, in fact the whole concept of our Ice-World mobile ice rink, from production to realization, is officially ISO 14001 certificated.
Wanting everybody to love skating, that is my ambition. An ambition which I not only fulfil with my mobile ice rinks, but also with organization of special skate teaching programmes for schools throughout the country. To inspire people, young and old, boys and girls, women en men, to skate more and more we also organize events like ice-shows. Great skating happenings in which top Slovenian skaters participate. Yes, I even perform myself.
Our success during the winter, the enthusiasm of the thousands of people that come to skate on our mobile ice rinks, the thousands of people that came to watch, asks for more. Therefore we think of expanding the skating season. For instance by realizing a rink in a popular Slovenian seaside resort. Skating during the summer: cool!
