The Hellenic Ice Sports Federation (HISF) with the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Sports and Olympic Properties has transformed the former 6,000-seat Judo and Wrestling Hall, in Ano Liossia, into an Olympic-size ice skating rink.

The project - installed in just a few days, by ONICE.gr (www.onice.gr), official dealer of Ice-World International in Greece and Cyprus -- was undertaken and completed to host this year's National Ice Hockey & Figure Skating Championships. "I'm truly impressed by the quality of ice," said Adam Sollitt, Project Coordinator, Research & Audit, International Ice Hockey Federation, who attended the first game of competition.

The ceremony, featuring presentations by graceful Greek figure skaters and competitive Greek ice hockey players, moved all that attended, including Mr. Spyros Capralos, President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, who, in his opening address took pride in the transformation of the venue to facilitate an Olympic standards ice rink, recognizing the challenges and need to support the sports of ice hockey and figure skating on an Olympic level in Greece.
