 As of 1 November, people on all continents will be able to skate thanks to Dutch wind power. A couple of wind turbines work for a full year to provide the energy for all of our ice rinks. You often hear claims that artificial ice rinks are gas guzzlers, but we try to do everything in a sustainable manner.
Doubts have also been expressed regarding whether our portable rinks really are up to 40 percent more economical than others. That's why we had TNO and TÜV carry out tests and calculations.
A study by TNO and its German counterpart TÜV reveals that Ice-World rinks are up to 40 percent more economical in terms of energy consumption than traditional ice rinks that use either rubber or polyethylene.
The mobile ice rink is more popular than ever, and the number of rentals is increasing every year. Although most rinks are situated in European countries, there is also interest outside that continent. For instance, we build artificial ice rinks in Mexico, Japan and America, most of them via our local dealers.
