At the Exhibition News Awards at Indigo² in April 2009 our client DMG World Media, won the award for ‘The Most Impressive Visitor Experience for the Metro Ski & Snowboard Show held at Olympia in October 2008'. An important part of this event was an Ice-World ice rink with 2 curling lanes supplied and managed by Ice-World dealer Stage Electrics directly for DMG World Media. The 225m² rink was split into two sections one 15m x 10m general skating area and a 15m x 5m curling lane area with a transparent barrier running between them. The curling lanes were put in as a ‘fun' section for those who do not skate, this proved to be a huge hit with all curling sessions being booked up well in advance.

DMG World Media producer Matthew Wozniak was delighted with the result as they had attempted to have an ice rink previously (another system) and had been unable to make it work.
‘Everyone has commented on what a great addition the rink has been to the whole event' he told John Burgess of Ice-World dealer Stage Electrics.
