This provincial capital in Belarus is located in one of the areas that were heavily affected by the Chernobyl disaster. To help boost the morale of the local population, plans were made to build a portable ice rink with an area of 2000m2 on a central square. The most modern system available throughout the world, the fold-out ice rink system from Ice-World, was selected for this project.
The population was very enthusiastic about the ice rink, and the technicians of the local ice hockey hall confirmed that the quality of the ice was better than the ice of their rink, which is used by professional ice hockey players. Alexander Masuroff, Westbel Project Group |
