The Margriet Winter Fair is an annually recurring event. Last November the event’s winter atmosphere was enhanced by an ice rink for the first time. A completely revamped Jaarbeurs (exhibition centre) in Utrecht attracted a record number of visitors (over 62,000) over a period of six days. Disney on Ice presented a number of abridged performances of its show the Beauty and the Beast on the ice rink. Famous ice skaters such as Jeroen Straathof and Frouke Oonk gave demonstrations and the Dutch figure skating association presented a number of shows. Everyone involved was very pleased with the ice quality. The event organisers Margriet Events, a department of the publishing company Sanoma Uitgevers, were very happy about the excellent collaboration with Ice-World.
