In December 2011 The Hague, the third largest city in the Netherlands, will be hosting the largest mobile ice rink in the world for about 6 weeks. The ice attraction park called Paradice will have an ice floor of over 6500 square meters, including rinks for show and ice theater, rinks for figure skating, curling and even two FunSlides made of snow and ice. The different ice rinks will be lall connected through 3 metre wide ice tracks, so that they form one big circuit. Paradice outruns in size the world-famous annual ice event ‘Wiener Eistraum' in Vienna, so the organizers convincingly put skate loving Netherlands in a blow on the world map. A remarkable sport that can be practiced during Paradice is karting. On a special ice rink people can race with electric karts. Electric, for once again a clear link to sustainability is sought, as all Ice-World rinks only use green energy. More news about this stunning event to be published soon on this site. |
